Our Mission
My name is Morgan Shepherd, and I am the owner and lead Speech-Language Pathologist of Helping Hands Therapy Co., LLC. Helping Hands is an independently woman-owned and operated pediatric and adult therapy practice located in rural northeastern Oklahoma.
What began as a vision to increase access to speech-language and swallowing services has grown into a multidisciplinary practice offering speech therapy, feeding and swallowing therapy, and occupational therapy services to individuals across the lifespan.
Our mission is simple: to ensure that children and adults in our rural communities can access high-quality therapy services close to home. Through clinic-based services, school partnerships, and collaborations with local tribal programs, we strive to meet individuals where they are—whether that means providing therapy in our clinic, schools, early childhood centers, tribal facilities, or other natural environments that support meaningful participation and progress.
My company name, Helping Hands (HH Co.), reflects both my mission to support families and the inspiration I draw from my two daughters, Haidyn and Hollyn (HH). While I believe I was made specifically for this line of work, my family and two children mean the world to me. The company name representing them is extra special. They remind me daily why building something meaningful in our community matters.
I was born and raised in northeastern Oklahoma, and this community is where I have chosen to plant my roots with my family. For more than nine years, I have worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist in this region. During that time, I have watched families struggle to find the services they desperately need. I have seen children miss critical opportunities for early intervention because of lengthy waitlists. I have sat with families who drive hours each week so their child can receive therapy. I have met stroke survivors who go without swallowing treatment because traveling simply is not feasible.
Today, I am fortunate to have a growing team of dedicated therapists who share my vision for increasing access to specialized services in our community. Together, we provide speech-language pathology and occupational therapy services designed to support communication, feeding and swallowing, sensory regulation, fine motor development, self-care skills, daily living activities, school participation, and overall independence. I am honored that these professionals believe in the future of this company and the impact we can make together.
Helping Hands was born from my desire to meet community needs while creating a practice rooted in compassion, family engagement, and measurable progress. Every milestone—whether it is a child saying their first word, a student gaining confidence in the classroom, an individual learning to complete daily tasks more independently, or an adult swallowing safely again—motivates me to continue this work. Helping Hands is more than a therapy clinic; it is a way to give back to the community that raised me.
By providing high-quality, family-centered speech-language pathology and occupational therapy services close to home, we can reduce healthcare disparities, empower parents and caregivers, and ensure that no child or adult goes without the support they deserve. We are especially proud to partner with local tribal programs and organizations to provide services in natural environments where individuals learn, play, work, and interact with their communities every day. These partnerships allow us to expand access to care while honoring the importance of culturally responsive, community-based services.
Our goal is to provide a place where every individual who walks through our doors can develop the skills needed to communicate effectively, eat and swallow safely, participate meaningfully in daily life, and reach their fullest potential.
In addition to outpatient services, we proudly partner with numerous school districts throughout our region. Our therapists serve as members of educational teams by providing evaluations, screenings, therapy services, documentation, training, consultation, and IEP support. We are excited to continue expanding these partnerships and welcome opportunities to collaborate with additional schools, tribal programs, and community organizations. If you are interested in contracting with Helping Hands Therapy Co., we would love to connect with you.
